About the Recipe

Humous, Falafel and Chana Masala. Chickpeas are the gift that just keeps on giving and I think they don't get enough recognition for it!. This simple and delicious recipe is a staple favourite at Bliss Yoga Retreats

Ingredients

  • 1 jar of chickpeas

  • Olive oil

  • Tahini

  • Fresh coriander

  • Fresh garlic

  • cumin

  • lemon juice

  • beetroot juice

  • salt and pepper

  • chopped beetroot to garnish

Preparation

STEP 1

Drain and rinse your jar of chickpeas, for ease I like to use pre cooked chickpeas to save having to soak them for hours. Blitz the fresh garlic and coriander in the food processor, personally I like to then saute the garlic quickly in a pan as I think it takes the sharpness away that you get from fresh garlic.

STEP 2

Place your chickpeas in the food processor along with the herbs, lemon juice, tahini and olive oil and mix well.

STEP 3

Add the mixture to a blender and add the beetroot juice, you will have to keep opening the blender and moving the mixture around until all of the humous has been made into a nice smooth consistency

STEP 4

Serve in a dish and garnish with chickpeas, chopped beetroot and fresh coriander
