Why did we decide to start offering business coaching?

We consistently sell out 14 yoga retreats every year. We are one of the top ranked retreats on the two biggest retreat hosting platforms in the world and most importantly we love what we do!

​But our business journey was far from a straight line to success. We made plenty of mistakes along the way, learned from our failures and grew and improved over the years.

Since our retreats have become well established and reputable I started to get enquiries from friends who are yoga asking for advice on how they can run their own retreats. I found that I was able to give them answers to the questions they were looking for and offer them practical useful advice that would help them avoid some of the mistakes that I made on my own business journey.

Overtime I developed this experience into a comprehensive course that would guide people through the whole business journey from creating and establishing a brand, to marketing and sales, to running and managing their own retreats.

So far we have helped a number of yoga teachers run their own successful and profitable retreats, which we also list here on our own website. One of Our Success Stories

Ella Marsh came to one of our retreats in Ibiza as a volunteer, she had run a couple of retreats before with a friend and had enjoyed it immensely but despite the hard work had so far never managed to make them turn a profit. She was an experienced yoga teacher and a fantastic chef but most importantly just a really instantly loveable human being, with a bright happy personality that shone through in the way that she interacted with everyone. She told me about her retreats so far, how she had marketed them, how she had been running them and where she thought she had been going wrong. She was an all round lovely human but definitely not an acute businesswoman.

I listened and realised that with some changes to her marketing strategy and some relatively small changes to the way she ran her retreats she could easily make them into a business that would be turning a healthy profit.

I really wanted to help Ella if I could as she was such a genuine, kind hearted and hard working person that deserved to succeed. I offered to her as a friend to give her some business coaching for free and was glad when she accepted. After a couple of months of coaching she had put the changes that I had suggested in to place and was ready for her next summer season of retreats. Last summer she ran 4 retreats and every single one of them was sold out. Not only that but they also returned a healthy profit for her to share with her friend and business partner.

It gave me an immense feeling of happiness to have been able to help someone make a success of their retreat business and it motivated me to develop my knowledge about retreats into a more structured and comprehensive way which led me to developing the retreat roadmap. I knew that people would begin their business journey at different stages along the road and this roadmap would make it easy to see and acknowledge how far they had come as well as order and prioritise the list of things still to do.

What are Our Coaching Methods?

We believe that starting a business means working through a process from beginning to end and the sequence is just as important as the tasks that need to be carried out. I have had clients in the past that have booked a villa before doing a profit and loss forecast and haven't even calculated how many guests they will need to break even. Its easy to get carried away with the exciting aspects of a retreat like booking the accommodation without having first created your brand, done your market research or getting listed on some of the big booking sites. This over enthusiastic approach and lack of preparation can lead to a failed retreat and the belief that their dream is unachievable.

But you can't underestimate the importance of preparation. Before I ran my first ever retreat for the public I had built the website, added a package to the booking sites for friends to book and ran my first ever retreat as a trial to gain experience, positive reviews and most importantly created content in the form of a professionally filmed promotional video and photos. I knew that the first thing people look at when they look at booking anything is the photos. If the photos aren't inspiring and don't instantly capture people's attention then you may as well not even bother writing the description because nobody is going to read it.

For all of our clients we also offer first priority on volunteering on one of our own retreats. Its a great way to get hands on experience, become inspired and generate ideas for things that you could do on your own retreats.
